Describe your perfect day off?
I would start my day with a sleep in followed by a walk to my local coffee shop for an oat cappucino (with drinking chocolate on top - yes please!). In the afternoon I would catch up with my friends or family for some food and drinks along the beach to watch the sunset or whilst listening to some live music - PERFECT!
What's on your travel bucket-list?
Travel has always been a passion of mine so I have avidly been ticking of international destinations over the years - when the budget has allowed! I have travelled India, Europe, The United Kingdom, Indonesia, Central America and South America so far. Next on the horizon is Vietnam and Japan.
What TV shows do you binge-watch?
I love a good mystery/thriller show and am a sucker for binging them all within a week! My recommendations would be Silo, Black Bird, and Big Little Lies. I also am obsessed with Firefly Lane and Emily in Paris which just give you the warm and fuzzies.
What inspired you to become an Occupational Therapist?
From an early age, I've been drawn towards helping people and making a positive change. This led me to study a Bachelor of Psychology and a Masters of OT Practice. I've had experience working in a range of settings such as an inpatient psychiatric ward, inpatient brain injury ward, inpatient general medicine ward, special development school, and community-based NDIS work.

What's one thing you love about being an OT?
I love working in an industry where curiosity is an asset and allows me to explore people's experiences, backgrounds and unique ways of moving through the world. There's not many jobs where being interested in other people's lives is not only encouraged - but essential.
If you could eat any food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Salt and vinegar chips - because they're just delicious!
What's a common myth about OT that you love to bust?
That it's all about crafts and basket weaving. Whilst it’s true that, OT's used activities like weaving to support recovery in post-war rehabilitation, modern OT practice is much more diverse and backed by research!

What hobby or interest do you enjoy outside of work?
Outside of work I enjoy keeping fit, going to the gym, and practicing Pilates. These activities help me stay active, build strength, and improve flexibility while also serving as a great way to unwind and stay healthy.
What's the most important thing left on your bucket list?
Travel is one of the most important things left on my bucket list. Having lived in the UK for 11 years, I was fortunate to explore some incredible destinations. I’ve always encouraged my kids to travel, and they’ve embraced it as well. The world is vast, and there's still many more places to experience!
