Functional Capacity Assessments (FCA)
Functional Capacity Assessments and Reports can be requested by the NDIA when you have a new plan; experience a change in circumstances; there are upcoming life transitions; there has been a change in disability. They are designed to evaluate and narrate a person's functioning within all aspects of their daily life and outline why funding requests are reasonable and necessary for the person's disability.
The whole process can take up to 15 hours and includes:
-
Review of reports and documentation from other allied health, for information gathering purposes.
-
Assessment Session/s. Depending on complexity this can require 1-3 sessions.
-
Report writing.
-
Communication with the supports in your care team.
